Ancient Tiryns

Ancient Tiryns was a hill fort that has been inhabited for more tha 7000 years. A UNESCO prtected World Heritage site it reached its pinnacle during the Myceanaen era. It is well know for its Palace, for its gigantic stone walls or as Homer reffers to them, Cyclopean walls and its catacombs.

An impressive site with much to see, walk between the walls and explore the archaeological site. Ongoing excavations coninue at Tiryntha and archaelogists can often be seen digging under the shade of unbrellas in front of the hill.
